Canada is a huge country and its population gathered along its southern border as the further north one goes, the more hostile
the climate. The present system effectively isolates all power in the center and leaves the outlying areas, including the West, without adequate or fair representation.

Over the past two decades, Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan is the economic engine of Canada, and yet central Canada dictates what and how and to who the West will sell its resources and is obsessed with creating impediments to any Western resource development even though revenue from resources benefits the whole country.

Regional economic disparities
Western provinces, while wealthy in natural resources, have faced economic challenges, particularly during periods of low commodity prices. This is further aggravated by a central government only concerned prosperity for its special interest group not its own citizens in the West.

Perceptions of unfair political representation
The present system effectively isolates all power in the center and leaves the outlying areas, including the West, without adequate or fair representation. The present population based system worked well 100 years ago but times have changed and a system where power rests
solely on population no longer applies in a society that prides itself on fair play.

The purposes of the British Columbia Prosperity Project are
(a) To inform British Columbians through education of possible options for the future of British Columbia.
(b) To form local Chapters and to conduct information sessions through Town Halls and via Social Media
